Absalom was still after the life of his Father. Pride was leading him gradually to his death but there was no wisdom in him to realize it. Today, we read in the first reading that “… his head caught fast in an oak, and he was left hanging between heaven and earth…”. Such is the nature of a proud person. He raises himself up high, but the heavens refuse to accommodate him and he is not ready to step on the ground (no humility). But eventually, the mule that is beneath the person will run on and only the dead remains of such a person will fall onto the ground. Pride kills. Let us avoid it.
. In the Gospel reading, a lot of people were hovering around Jesus. Some admired his preaching, others enjoyed the awe 🫢 of His miracles etc. Jairus was leading Jesus to his house to heal his daughter. But the woman who had had the flow of blood for twelve years perceived with faith that it was time for her to get healed at that very place and moment. Her touch of faith drew a great power out of Jesus. That made Jesus shift all His attention onto the woman. Many people go to church for various reasons e.g to dance, to try their luck, to see miracles etc. But if you go, have that faith which can draw power from Jesus so that He will start searching for you. Faith in Christ is powerful.
