Royal Child of God, In our Gospel passage today, Jesus moves towards Jerusalem. He calls His disciples and tells them that he would be handed over to the chief priests… James and John fail to be sensitive to the plight of Jesus by seeking for honor through their mother. Beloved in Christ, when we are selfish, we seek for all things for ourselves even when others will suffer for that. Jesus did not act insensitively to them in return, but took His time to teach them the implications of their actions. Thus when someone offends you, you don’t have to offend that person in return to teach him/her a lesson. Take time and teach them.
Precious one, at the beginning of their ministry, James and John had purity of intentions. In the process, they changed that to seek for pure attention. This is very dangerous in our Christian life and in our daily relationships with people. For Jesus, service to God and mankind rather than the search for attention is what will make us great. Today, sacrifice yourself for the good of others and together, we can transform our world which is filled with attention seeking men and women. God bless you. 🙏
