– Today is a beautiful Sunday. We move to the house of God and bow down in worship. In today’s Gospel passage, Jesus also went to the Temple to cleanse it. He drove out the sheep 🐑 being brought there to be sold. Since the sheep to be sold definitely had ropes tied to their necks, it meant that, the owners would just go outside and pick the ropes and have all their sheep back. Jesus again scattered the coins 🪙 of the money changers because they could later pick all the coins again and leave the temple without losing the coins. But if Jesus had scattered the doves 🕊, they would fly away and the owners would have lost their possession. That is why He told the owners of the doves 🕊 to send them outside without scattering them. Since the traders had all their possessions back, that is why we don’t see them revolting too much.
– Therefore, Precious one, although Jesus was consumed by His zeal for God’s house, He acted with PRUDENCE. even in His anger, He did not cleanse the Temple in such a way that the people would go hungry by losing their property. Whenever we are angry even for a just cause, what do we do? Let us Imitate what Jesus did in the Gospel passage today. Doing and promoting God’s work does not mean that we should deny others of their possessions. To seek for the good and welfare of others is also part of having a zeal for God’s house. May God bless us all to be like Jesus. Amen 🙏.
